To the many supporters of Grant Township's Hunter's Point Project.
Your generous donations to Grant Township's Hunter's Point Project have helped us reach our goal of $195,000 in matching funds to allow us to complete the purchase of Hunter's Point. We have received over 1,000 donations from individuals, trusts, and businesses in 33 states. Over 7,000 petition signatures have been collected and hundreds of letters and emails have been received supporting the purchase.
We are also very appreciative to the individuals and organizations through whose extraordinary efforts have resulted in special donations to our Hunter's Point Project.
During their December 8th meeting in Lansing, The Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Trustees placed on their final recommendation list of projects our $560,000 grant application to purchase Copper Harbor's Hunter's Point. When the purchase of Hunter's Point is finalized in 2005, public access will be assured for future generations to come. We thank the Trustees, Sam Washington, Bob Garner, Steven Arwood, David Dempsey, and Jim Thompson for their consideration and support of our Project.
Any donated funds remaining after the purchase of Hunter's Point is completed will be used for the maintenance of the property. When we can establish a time line for the completion of the purchase of Hunter's Point, we will publish it on our Hunter's Point Web Site. Thank you for helping us to reach our goal.
